Welcome to the website of Spencer Ahrens!  I am a passionate young engineer and inventor, hungry for innovation in the environmental technology sector. 

I am currently leading the startup company RawSolar out of MIT which is in the process of commercializing a new solar energy technology with the potential to make clean energy cheaper than fossil fuels in the near future, and without reliance on subsidies.  You can see more pictures and videos here and here.

I'm recently received my Master's Degree in the Mechanical Engineering from MIT.  My research was in guidance, navigation and controls with the RAVEN testbed in MITs Aerospace Controls Laboratory, directed by Prof. Jonathan How.  You can download one of my latest research videos on vision-based indoor helicopter flight here.
